1. The first technique to boost your metabolism is to start off with a high-intensity workout
High-intensity interval training (HIIT) involves quick and very intense bursts of activity. This can help you burn more fat at a high metabolic rate, even after your workout has finished! HIIT has also been proven to help burn fat much faster than other workouts. It’s one to start off with and keep at even!
2. Learn to not sit still!
You have to learn to not sit still for too long. Whether you want to fidget or even chew gum, it helps! These activities are termed, 'NEAT' (non-exercise activity thermogenesis) and have been proven to help boost metabolism. Other than NEAT activities, we do implore you to exercise regularly.
3. Learn to love green tea
Avoid your milk-based drinks at work and opt for green tea instead. Studies have proven that green tea can help boost your metabolic rate by 4 to 5 per cent! Now, that's a lot! Green tea has only 2 calories per cup, but that's without the sugar, of course!

A German study recently proved that chugging 8-ounce glasses of water could help calorie burning by 30 per cent in less than 10 minutes. And for all of you who cannot make time for regular exercise, this tip is important.
5. Make fresh lemon juice a friend
Make fresh lemon juice a friend of yours. Learn to regularly add it to your green tea as it is loaded with Vitamin C. Arizona State University researchers found that those who don't get enough Vitamin C may acquire 25 per cent fewer calories during a workout. This is for all you exercisers out there!
6. Laughing is an exercise too!
Do not dismiss this as 'silly'! A classic study published in the International Journal of Obesity showed that laughing sparks a small amount of calorie burning. Forget the gym, just laugh all day!
